What’s new in 0.1.10
This release tells you how well your computer can run Spectator and makes summaries reliable on Windows computers without a usable graphics card.
- Setup and Settings now say whether your computer is below the minimum requirements, meets them, or meets the recommended level, and name the hardware that would help.
- On slower computers, Spectator offers to turn off the transcript and summary it saves after each meeting. Recording keeps working either way.
- Summaries work on Windows computers without a usable graphics card. Spectator runs them on the processor from the start instead of stopping with "llama-server did not become ready in time".
- If summarizing on the graphics card does not start in time, Spectator retries on the processor instead of failing.
- Summaries on the processor use as many cores as your computer has, up to eight.
- When a summary fails, the app log includes more detail about why, which makes support easier.

System requirements
Spectator does all of its work on your own computer, so a faster computer gives you better notes, sooner. Setup checks your computer and picks what fits; nothing to configure.

Intel-based Macs and Windows on ARM are not supported. Internet access is only needed to install, update, read calendar feeds, or use the optional cloud AI providers.
Updates respect your control
- Spectator checks for new versions on a schedule you pick, or only when you ask.
- The check sends no account, device or usage information.
- Release notes appear in the app before anything downloads, and installing always needs your confirmation.
- Downloads are verified against BetterDocket’s signing key before they are installed.
