BetterDocket has one plan: $10/month for your firm + $4/month per open case.

10 open cases = $50/month. Unlimited team members. Everything included. Owners and admins manage the plan under Settings → Subscription.

The trial

The 14-day trial starts when the firm workspace is created, with no card on file. A banner counts it down; press Start checkout whenever the firm is ready — checkout and card updates finish in your browser through Stripe, then the app picks up the new status.

What you pay for

The Subscription screen leads with your monthly price at the current caseload and shows the equation: the $10 firm price plus the number of open cases multiplied by $4. The current bill is a separate, secondary amount because cases added or archived during the billing period are prorated by day.

Open How the current bill is calculated to see the case-day ledger and storage details. A case-day counts each case once per UTC day. A case present for the full billing period costs exactly $4 whether that period has 28, 29, 30, or 31 days. Archived cases are $0.20/month. Each open case includes 10 GB of documents, with additional storage at $0.50/GB-month; each archived case includes 5 GB, with additional storage at $0.10/GB-month. Those charges are prorated by day too.

Close, archive, or delete — and what each costs

• Closing a case removes it from active lists and attention scoring, and the client sees your closing note — but closed cases keep billing at the open-case rate until archived.
• Archiving drops the case to $0.20/month plus any archived-storage overage and moves its files to cold storage. The record stays readable to the firm and the client; bringing files back with Restore case usually takes a few hours.
• Deleting removes the case for the firm and the client and stops future charges at the next daily usage snapshot. After 30 days the record and files are destroyed permanently — the one irreversible action, which is why it requires typing the case name and offers Download a copy first?.

At any point, Download this case builds a ZIP of everything — documents in their folders, draft versions and markups, even the Trash, plus a readable summary — without changing the case or what you pay.

Invoices and the danger zone

Invoices lists each one with a viewable copy and PDF. Update payment method opens the Stripe portal; Cancel subscription cancels at period end, and access continues until then. If payment fails, a grace period keeps write access open while you sort the card out — the banner on every screen shows exactly where things stand.
