Review a draft from your firm

When your firm wants your eyes on a document before finalizing it, it appears on the case's Drafts for review tab. Read the latest version, then tell them where you stand: approve it, suggest changes, or upload a copy with your own markings.

Some firms collect written comments only — in that case the upload option won't appear, and you describe the changes you'd like in the note instead.

Read the draft

The card under "Waiting for your review" shows the document's title, its version number, your firm's note about it, and a "Please review by" date if they set one. Press Open the draft to read the document itself.

Approve it

If it looks right, press Approve. You can add an optional note, and your firm is notified that the draft looks good to you.

Ask for changes

Press Suggest changes and describe what you'd like different — "Paragraph 4 lists the wrong address" — or upload a marked-up copy of the document, or both. Marked-up files follow the same rules as other uploads: PDF, image, text, Word, or spreadsheet, 10 MB max. Press Send to firm and they see everything you sent.

Rather talk it through?

Both the approve and suggest-changes forms include a checkbox: "I'd like to discuss this on a call." Check it and your firm sees the request and reaches out to schedule time — no phone tag required to say "can we talk about this first?"

After you respond

Your response, notes, and any marked-up copy stay under Past review rounds, so there's a record of what you said about each version. If your firm revises the document, the new version replaces the old review — you'll be asked to look at the latest version, and the earlier rounds stay in the history.

Responding to a draft needs an internet connection. And as always: the draft's content is your firm's work — questions about what it means belong in Messages.
